Every site consists of files – text files, image files, audio tracks, etc. These files must be put somewhere that allows anyone on the net view them. Whenever those files are uploaded onto a powerful computer (a server), that means the website is hosted by that server.

The business that owns the server then connects the web address (also referred to as a domain title) to those files, and everyone can access that website through that domain.

When you purchase web hosting, you can create any website you want. Most people use it to host their personal, hobby, or business sites, and you can even host more than one site if you have more than one domain name and the right hosting package

A little bit of technical knowledge will help make the process smoother, but you can access most of the features you need through the straightforward and beginner-friendly control panel.

Knowing a bit about FTP does help, as it is the easiest way to upload your website to your hosting package, but the applications included in your package also make it easy to create a website.

Most packages are set up immediately, and you can begin to build your website right away. However, it might take a few days for your domain name to be fully registered and point to your hosting package. This time frame is perfectly normal and happens across every web host -it just takes time for the servers and the domain names to sync up.

When you host a website, you’re hosting files on a server. With “cloud hosting”, this means that your files are actually on several servers, so that if any one server goes down, the others can pick up the slack and keep your site running. Cloud-based hosting is very reliable and flexible, making it easy for you to upgrade and easy for us to swap in and out servers as needed.

“Cloud computing”, which is what people usually mean when they refer to “the cloud”, is when you use software and services online rather than installing them on your computer. This can be things like online text editors, webmail, photo galleries, and online calendars. Many computers now offer cloud computing, including Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo.

Every site hosted on 3D Hosting needs to be associated with a domain name in order to work. But every web hosting package includes at least one free domain name, so you won’t need to buy another one.

If you already have a domain name that you want to use, you can use it instead.

If your domain name is already registered with 3d hosting and you’re not using it with another one of our services, then you can attach it to your web hosting package when you order.

If your domain is hosted with another company, there are two ways to use it with your hosting package:

• Transfer it to 3d hosting and then attach it to your web hosting package. Most companies will allow you to transfer, and we have a detailed guide on transferring domain names. You will need to wait for the transfer to complete before you purchase your hosting, and this can take up to a few days depending on where your domain name is and what type it is. But once it’s in, you can associate it with your account right away.
